Day 4
Day Four: Second move-in day. The next destination on the itinerary was the city of Mayaguez to visit the Universidad Albizu Mayaguez and the graduate students. The TAMUK graduate cohort traveled across the Puerto Rican mountainous countryside and were astonished by all its beauty.
After hours of traveling, they finally arrived at their destination feeling slightly frazzled, but excited to begin planning for Universidad Albizu Mayaguez’s Programa Intensivo Estimulacion De Destrezas Del Habla-Lenguage. They were greeted by the Universidad Albizu Mayaguez’s speech pathology department with kindness and open arms.

Students were given a tour around the speech pathology department by Lcda. Annette Rodriquez-Georgi accompanied by the graduate/undergraduate students from Albizu’s speech pathology program. Orientation was provided by Lcda. Grelaine Rodriguez-Feliciano to debrief the main objectives of the speech-language therapy intensive program, the program schedule, expectations for speech therapy services, therapy activities, and collaborations between both university cohorts. Collaborative discussions amongst both university graduate programs were encouraged to help prepare therapy activities for the upcoming event.
At the end of the day, the TAMUK CSDO graduate students headed back to their hotel. They spent the evening exploring the town square where residents of Mayaguez happily celebrated the annual Christmas festival, which was recommended by fellow Albizu graduate students.
